Privacy

Hype Climb tracks upcoming games and updates about them. It is a public, read-only site with nothing to register for: this page states exactly what we store about a visit, and how long we keep it.

What we store

Hype Climb stores:

• Page views -- a daily count of visits per page, keyed to a pseudonymous digest that resets every day and cannot be linked across days or back to you. No IP address or user agent is stored.
• Referring site -- when you arrive from a link on another site, we store the domain name only (e.g. google.com), never the full address, path, or anything after it. It is erased with the page-view row it belongs to.
• Preference cookies -- your interface language (locale), your colour theme (theme), and the calendar month you last viewed (calendar_month). Each holds nothing but your choice and lasts up to a year.
• A session cookie -- _isobar_session, a technical cookie holding only a form-security token. It carries no identity, is never used for tracking, and expires when you close your browser.

Nothing else is stored about you.

How long we keep it

• Raw page views are erased automatically after 30 days; the daily totals they roll up into are kept as an aggregate trend.
• Hype-score history (used to show a game's trend over time) is kept for 180 days.
• Other internal history (hype signals, job-run audit rows) is kept for 90 days.

Game data is provided by IGDB. Review scores are provided by Steam and GOG.
